3. User Accounts

To use SafeTrade, you must create an account and provide accurate, complete information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

Users must be at least 18 years old to create an account. You agree to:

• Keep your account information up to date
• Maintain the security of your account credentials
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access

4. Escrow Services

SafeTrade acts as a neutral third party to hold funds in escrow during transactions. By using our escrow service, you agree that:

• Funds will be held until both parties confirm transaction completion

• Disputed funds will be subject to our dispute resolution process
• A platform fee will be deducted from completed transactions

5. Fees and Payments

SafeTrade charges the following fees:

• Platform fee: 5% of the transaction value (paid by seller)

All fees are displayed before transaction confirmation. By proceeding with a transaction, you agree to pay all applicable fees.

6. Prohibited Activities

You agree not to:

• Use the platform for illegal activities or to sell prohibited items
• Commit fraud or misrepresent items or yourself
• Circumvent the escrow system
• Harass, threaten, or abuse other users
• Upload malicious content or attempt to hack the platform
• Create multiple accounts to evade restrictions
• Violate any applicable laws or regulations

7. Dispute Resolution

In the event of a dispute, SafeTrade provides an AI-assisted dispute resolution process. Both parties will have the opportunity to provide evidence. Our decision on disputes is final and binding, subject to appeal in certain circumstances.

8. Limitation of Liability

SafeTrade is not responsible for:

• The quality, safety, or legality of listed items
• The accuracy of user-provided information
• The conduct of users during meetups
• Loss or damage beyond our insurance coverage limits

Our maximum liability is limited to the amount of fees paid to us or the transaction value, whichever is lower.

9. Privacy

Your use of SafeTrade is also governed by our Privacy Policy. By using our services, you consent to our collection and use of your information as described.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violations of these terms or for any other reason at our sole discretion. Upon termination, any pending funds will be handled according to our standard procedures.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes. Your continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of South Africa. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of South Africa.
